DCU fans losing their minds over our new Wonder Woman

Who will take on the iconic role?

A brand-new Wonder Woman movie is officially in the works and is being “written right now” according to a recent report.

Earlier this week, James Gunn announced that a Wonder Woman movie is on the horizon as the Amazon from Themiscyra will get another chance at redemption.

With the previous DC Wonder Woman being played by Gal Gadot and being met with negative reviews across the board, it makes sense that DC would like to try again.

Gunn, the writer and director of Superman, will be at the helm of the project and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, said simply, "We're working on Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman's being written right now."

As mentioned, Wonder Woman has previously been played by Gadot in the previous era of DC movies, including Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, Fury of the Gods, and The Flash.

This was on top of the Wonder Woman duology by Patty Jenkins.

However, it seems as though Gadot is set to be replaced and although we don’t yet know which actress will be taking on the iconic role, fans over on r/boxoffice have been putting their own recommendations forward.

“The casting for Diana is definitely gonna be something worth following. The only one I think will top it will, of course, be whoever becomes the DCU Batman,” the top comment read.

One name that has cropped up multiple times already is Adria Arjona who is best known for playing Bix in Andor.

For user Obi-Wayne, she would be the perfect choice.

“I heard that as a fan cast, and can't imagine anyone else,” their comment read.

“Insanely beautiful, she can actually act (she was great in Andor, also liked her in Hit Man), early 30s. She's also 5'7 so she's not super tiny (in heels she could look in place standing next to Corenswet), and she's on the rise so she wouldn't be as expensive as a 'name' actress.”

It remains to be seen which actress will take on this iconic role but no matter who is chosen, let us hope this Wonder Woman run is a lot more successful than the last.
