Batman fans know who they want to see under the mask in James Gunn’s DC film universe, though Pattinson should definitely stick around too.
After finishing his work with the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, James Gunn has now moved to DC in an attempt to succeed where Zack Snyder failed.
It will of course be a multiverse though, otherwise how would Joker: Folie à Deux fit in? Then again maybe it shouldn’t…
Gunn’s universe will begin with fresh take on the Superman origin story, presumably setting up some key heroes and villains while the following films move into production.

David Corenswet is the new Man Of Steel, which has led many to wonder who should, and who will, play the World’s Greatest Detective, Batman.
Fan-casts have done their thing, and while there are plenty of actors that could feasibly put on the cape and cowl, fans know damn well who they want.
An example is this Reddit thread which put things to a vote, saying “these three are the major fan casting rumours … we can use this poll to figure out who is the most popular one to cast for James Gunn's DCU Batman.”
The options were Jensen Ackles, Alan Ritchson and Jake Gyllenhaal, with Ackles get an overwhelming majority.

He’s also the top pick in other threads too, with many believing he captures the look, build and attitude of Batman perfectly.
Ackles also has a great voice for the role too, as he’s already been voicing Batman in some of the animated films like Batman: The Long Halloween.
If he went all the way and put on the batsuit as well, I don’t think many would complain as he clearly has a passion for the character.
That being said Pattinson has done a fine job up to now in the Reeves universe, so let’s keep that story going if we can.
