The first teaser for the long-awaited sequel to 28 Weeks Later is upon us, and while it’s only a short vignette of quick shots overlaid with a morse code signal, it has us excited.
Released on Saturday, the short 11-second trailer shows very little, but does enough to build tension and excitement for the next part in the franchise.
28 Days Later wowed fans with its British setting and new take on zombie horror
With Danny Boyle returning to direct, and Alex Garland back on writing duties, hype is steadily building for a new zombie horror.

We see very little in this teaser, however, the morse code playing over the top of the footage spells the word “Tuesday” which leads us to think a full trailer will drop on 10 December.
During this initial look, we see an overhead drone shot of an island, a scarecrow that is most definitely a zombie, and the film’s hazmat logo.
Starring Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the film is set - as is painfully obvious - 28 years after the zombie outbreak of Rage seen in the original film.
28 Years Later will see the return of Cillian Murphy in his role of Jim, but little is known about his performance and whether it’s simply a cameo.

The plot of the original film may be familiar to many; it saw Jim waking up in a British hospital, only to find the country overrun by zombie-like monsters.
There was a sequel which wasn’t overly well-received, and as that didn’t have either Boyle or Garland attached, many fans are seeing this new project as a proper sequel to the 2002 film.
Fingers crossed we get more footage next week, as plot details have been kept strictly under wraps during shooting.
There will be a second part to this film soon, with Nia DaCosta helming 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple.
