Lara Croft is set to make a grand return … in Fortnite.
Yes, I know. We’re all desperate to see a new Tomb Raider game land.
I’m personally still annoyed that the rebooted trilogy is seemingly set to forever remain just that, a trilogy.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider may have provided a satisfying conclusion to Lara’s origin story, but I’d have loved to see Camilla Luddington continue on as the character, embarking on a new trilogy with Lara having now grown into her Tomb Raider moniker.
It’s looking far more likely though that eventually, the franchise will be rebooted yet again.
A new Tomb Raider game was unveiled in 2022 to be in the works at Crystal Dynamics, with the project being made in Unreal Engine 5.
It’s due to be published by Amazon Games.

It should be pointed out that Crystal Dynamics did partially create the reboot trilogy so a continuation isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.
I just have a feeling that with the studio now having been acquired by Amazon, the bigwigs at Amazon Games may want to put their own stamp on the franchise.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a game that should scratch the Tomb Raider itch.
In the meantime, Fortnite players will be able to reunite with Lara as a new skin is reportedly set to hit the game soon.

A new Fortnite update dropped today which means that dataminers have been busy pouring over its code in search of answers regarding what’s coming up in the game.
This tidbit comes from reliable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR who found the skin’s description: “A globetrotting archeologist with a penchant for dangerous adventures.”
There’s no word on exactly when the skin will drop but it should be during “this update” so we’re talking a matter of days most likely.
As I said, it’s reportedly a new skin, so it won’t be the rebooted version of the character previously launched in Fortnite many years ago.

I’ve been waiting for that skin to return so I hope the new version is still pretty cool.
Perhaps it’ll be a classic polygonal Lara? I’ll be keeping an eye on further developments.
