Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 fame, has said who his favourite Spider-Man is. And it's not his own.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lowenthal commented on his favourite Spidey performance coming from Tobey Maguire. This isn't much of a surprise given that many hold that performance near and dear to their hearts.
Lowenthal was joined by horror legend Tony Todd who took on the voice of Venom
Yuri's comment in full mentions the joy of Spider-Man: No Way Home, "Tobey (Maguire) was always my guy. Watching Spider-Man: No Way Home, I watched all the joys of those guys hanging out together. Honestly, I could have watched an entire movie of those three Spider-Men sitting in a room together, shooting the s**t."

So could we Yuri, so could we. Yuri Lowenthal got to tap into a different side of Peter Parker in the latest entry of the franchise, channeling some anger as the symbiote suit impacts our usually lovable web-head.
"You ask any actor, 'would you rather play a her or villain?' and they'll say villain. You get to be bad and play in that world, but not go to jail." Yuri does a great job with arrogant and obnoxious Spider-Man but found it difficult. He went on to say "I underestimated how hard it would be to make your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, not friendly. I've settled into such a zone with Peter to make him the opposite of that."
The entire interview is a goldmine of information on the game and his acting craft, but also his views on the Spider-Man character as a whole. After nominating Maguire as 'his guy' he goes on to say that he agrees with a writer who said "that Miles is more 'Spider-Man' to a lot of kids out there, and Peter is that old guy who cracks jokes that they don't think is funny. I think it's awesome that Spider-Man can be an enduring character in and out of himself."
