The Witcher 4 quietly confirms at least one returning character

We do know that The Witcher 4 is currently in development but other than that, there is not much else to say about the highly-anticipated sequel.

CD Projekt Red announced its plans for The Witcher 4 back in 2022 with the sequel marking the start of a brand-new saga in the Witcher universe.

Check out the next-gen trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt below!

However, with the project still in its early stages, there is not much we do know about what we can expect.

Not only that, but after the whirlwind success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the sequel has big shoes to fill.

One thing that has now come to light is that the voice of Geralt of Rivia, Doug Cockle, is back and although he may not be taking on the main role this time, he is still excited to get stuck in.

During a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Cockle revealed that whatever CDPR is cooking up is likely “going to be incredible”.

"What I hope is that whatever they do with Witcher 4 is a brilliant expansion on the world of The Witcher universe," he explained.

"I don't know if they're going to be forward in time or back in time or what. I have no idea what character, old or brand new, they might be focusing on. I mean, we've had hints, we've had this medallion image from CDPR that looks a lot like a lynx to me. So maybe it's about a new Witcher school, or a Witcher school that we haven't explored before," he continued.

"I don't know... I just can't wait to see what it is that they've come up with. I think that's going to be incredible."

As for Cockle, he has some ideas about what he thinks the sequel should focus on.

He “would love to explore the beginnings of the Witchers, when the Trial of the Grasses stuff started to actually work, and they had these people who had these enhanced abilities and all that stuff."

With CD Projekt Red hard at work on both The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, it may be a while before we receive more information.

However, if it is up to the standard of The Witcher 3, we are in for a treat.
