CD Projekt Red has quite a lot on its plate at the moment. When you look at all the confirmed projects and add in those that are still getting support after release, it’s no surprise that The Witcher 4 is still some way off.
This goes some way to backing up statements made on a recent podcast that the Witcher sequel is still a few years out.
We were big fans of the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom Liberty, upon release
Appearing on the Flow Games podcast, Cyberpunk 2077 sequel director Pawel Sasko said that most of the studio’s projects are in the “early stages.”

Sasko went on to say, "The only difference is the Polaris project, so the new Witcher saga, that will enter production. That is the most advanced of all of those."
This isn’t huge news as we know that a large chunk of the CD Projekt Red workforce has shifted over to the new Witcher title, but Sasko’s comments do at least give us some form of clarity.
We now know that the next installment in the franchise is leading the way in terms of production and even then, it’s still in what the team would call the early stages.
This means we’ll still have to wait a few years before we see much of the game, though it’s likely the studio will drop a teaser at some point to give us an idea of which direction we’re heading in with regards to story and characters.

The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, is the lead project for the studio, but CD Projekt Red has more up its sleeve with the confirmed sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 on the way, and several other projects based on the Witcher IP.
While we may not see anything on any of these games for the coming months, take heart in knowing they are coming. For now, maybe replay The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077, again.
