That is why one player wasn’t surprised when they recently came across a cameo of a much-loved Game of Thrones character as they explored Skellige in The Witcher 3.

Located in a cell on the island of Kaer Almuhlt in Skellige, Tyrion Lannister can be found after stealing the key from a nearby guard.
Him being found in a cell is of course referencing the sky cell from the hit HBO show but in The Witcher 3’s case, he’s quite dead by the time Geralt finds him. Not only that but upon examining his body, Geralt will say “Sky cells – nice idea for a prison without bars. Shame he didn’t know how to fly.”
This is not the only reference to the world created by George R.R. Martin after players have previously discovered nods to both Brienne of Tarth and The Mountain.
The Mountain can be fought during the tourney in The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine DLC and Brienne of Tarth is believed to be the last opponent in the Beauclair-Fist Fight, according to one Reddit user.
