I’m sure that asking the gaming community what the best LEGO game ever is would be quite the contentious question. I mean, it’d be a bit like asking someone who their favourite child is. Well, maybe not LEGO Worlds. Or The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame. That one loses points solely from stylising ‘video game’ the way it does.

Regardless of a few more slightly mediocre titles, there’s no doubt that there’s loads of fan-favourite LEGO games, but it’s time to cast them all aside. Folks, a new king has officially, indisputably been crowned.

You already know what's coming, but before we go on, be sure to take a look at some of the best unique character interactions from The Skywalker Saga below.

As reported by GameSpot, Warner Bros. Games has announced that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga sold a whopping 3.2 million units in its first two weeks, smashing sales records “on every platform, region, and edition”. Overall, that’s quite comfortably made it the biggest LEGO game launch in history. Not to be sniffed at.

This news isn’t really too surprising - we already knew that the game was on track to be record-breaking. Last week, courtesy of data from GfK, it was revealed that it was the UK’s biggest LEGO game launch ever, and that was only counting the game’s boxed sales. At the time, it’d outperformed the UK’s previous best, LEGO Indiana Jones, by 8.4%, and had become the second fastest-selling boxed game of the year so far, second only to Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

There’s also no wonder that the game’s doing so well when basically everyone adores it. In his review, GAMINGbible’s Tom said that it “feels like the culmination of the decades of work developers TT Games have put into the LEGO Star Wars franchise”, and that “every aspect is built with passion and love for both the story and the studs.” I mean, what’s not to love about a game where young Anakin can so innocently ask Darth Vader where he can get a cool suit like his? That, folks, is perfection.
