An Elder Scrolls game is getting taken offline later this month, leaving fans with only weeks left until the game is gone forever.
With a franchise spanning over 30 years, Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series has had many different entries and spin-offs for fans to enjoy.
While we wait for The Elder Scrolls VI, another game in the series released in 2020 will be pulled offline later this month, making it only a matter of weeks until you can’t play it anymore.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades was announced to be taken offline back in March, and it was delisted from storefronts on the same day.

However, those who had already downloaded the game could still access the game, having until 30 June before the servers get taken offline.
Available on mobile and Nintendo Switch, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a side adventure set after the Great War, where the Blades have been outlawed and forced into exile.
You play as a surviving member of this group, who must help rebuild their home town after it has been destroyed by bandits, by going on quests and scavenging for materials that will help to restore it to its former glory.
As a game built for touchscreens, The Elder Scrolls: Blades had a more simplified version of that traditional Elder Scrolls gameplay.

With that said, I’ve been playing a little bit of Blades on my Nintendo Switch 2, and I’d say Bethesda still did a pretty decent job at converting the formula to suit mobile platforms.
For example, entering combat locks you into place, where you must hold down on the left or right sides of the screen to wave your weapon. Considering mobile’s limitations compared to PC or console, I’d say it’s a job well done.
Even so, despite its initial popularity, the game simply wasn’t making the money it needed to sustain itself, hence why Bethesda will be sunsetting the experience later this month.
In the meantime, all players were gifted a free bundle featuring a massive amount of gems and sigils to use on the in-game store, where the cost of items was also reduced to one gem each.
Essentially, players can now experience all of the content the game has to offer before the 30 June deadline without the premium purchases getting in the way. You can now enjoy the three modes: Town, Abyss, and Arena, with cheap high-level gear and nothing getting in the way of that experience.
While the game received negative reviews at launch, a huge number of complaints about Blades were levied at its grinding, which is essentially nullified with the latest update.
