Time doesn’t just fly when you’re having fun.
The Elder Scrolls fandom can confirm this, for theirs is a pain we feel as if it were our own. Even more so now that we realise just how long it’s been since The Elder Scrolls VI reveal.
Bethesda has been mercilessly roasted about its failings when it comes to the way it handled the infamous 2018 teaser.

It isn’t the first time fans have been agitated, and it won’t be the last.
We need a laugh right now, so here's some funny Skyrim wins and failures.
In fact, I’d wager gamers are about to become riled up once again now that Nattttasha has detailed just how long everyone has been waiting.

“It's been almost as long since the trailer as the trailer was since Skyrim,” they posted.
To put that another way, it’s been “six years and five months” since the E3 trailer, and it was “six years, seven months” after Skyrim’s release that TES VI was announced.
Basically, we’ve waited far longer than most of us are comfortable with.
“I can’t hear you, my hearing has completely depleted because I am now a pensioner waiting for my favourite series,” joked EmbarrassedPianist59.

Waiting is only half of the problem – the other is “disappointment”.
User FriendlyCupcake commented, “It’s not merely the wait; it’s the inevitable disappointment that follows.”
Not to play devil’s advocate here, but as frustrating as all this waiting around is, Bethesda never promised a quick turnaround time.
“They [Bethesda] were pretty clear at the time that the game was many many years away when they released the trailer,” AtTheVioletHour reasoned.

We might not like that fact, but our dislike doesn’t change its validity.
Besides, all this doom and gloom won’t get us any closer to the game, it’ll only embitter us further.
A huge new Skyrim expansion seven years in the making will more than fill the void.
No, it isn’t TES VI, but it’s much better than sulking about a game’s release we have no control over.
