We remain pretty in the dark when it comes to updates surrounding development on The Elder Scrolls VI but a recent tease from Todd Howard has fans feeling quite concerned.
Despite first being announced back in 2019, The Elder Scrolls VI has already found itself becoming a bit of a meme when it comes to its lack of updates.
Check out our first and only glimpse at The Elder Scrolls VI below!
As the first The Elder Scrolls entry since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it is safe to say that the Bethesda RPG has a lot to live up to.

However, a recent comment by none other than Todd Howard himself has fans feeling worried about the game’s future.
Especially as it relates to the less-than-popular Starfield.
Starfield, which was released back in 2023, was considered a flop when it comes to Bethesda RPGs and now it seems as though TES VI will run on the same engine as Starfield.
With Starfield criticised for being behind the times when it comes to graphics and presentation, this does not bode well to say the least.

In an interview with Kinda Funny Gamescast, Howard spoke about Bethesda’s choice to use Creation Engine 2.
He also spoke about TES VI’s dynamic quest system which will allow multiple quests to be active at the same time without interruption.
“You can be on dozens of these at once, and that creates a lot of chaos sometimes in our games, we’re aware of that, but it also creates these magic moments that we just love and our players love and I think that’s what is really really special about it.”
However, fans are more concerned over TES VI being another potential flop but they still remain somewhat hopeful.

“They’ve upgraded the engine a lot in the last two years”, one Reddit user shared.
“If there's anything to be worried about for TESVI, for me, it's the writing.”
Another said: “The engine was never the issue. Bethesda is capable of making a polished game now with Microsoft there to help QA. Even if they release a buggy mess like Skyrim, there's still a high likelihood it can be a great game. Starfield was mid because the game design and writing were lazy, and not appropriately suited toward Bethesda's strengths.”
It remains to be seen how Creation Engine 2 will fare for The Elder Scrolls VI but all we can do for now is wait and see.
