A sequel is on the way for The Blood of Dawnwalker after Rebel Wolves’ debut title sold 1,000,000 copies in just two days.
The open-world action RPG follows dawnwalker Coen in his fight against vrakhiri leader Brencis, who has taken his family hostage.
Within the title, Coen has just 30 days and 30 nights to retrieve his family before they’re sacrificed in Brencis’ coronation.
It should come as no surprise that The Blood of Dawnwalker is getting a sequel.

At this year’s Summer Game Fest, Rebel Wolves stopped by to drop a new cinematic trailer, teasing the future of their The Dawnwalker Saga franchise.
It featured a modern-day Coen, signifying that this is a character we’re going to follow through the ages.

As a dawnwalker, Coen doesn’t age - and with The Blood of Dawnwalker set within the 14th century, there are so many time periods, cultures, and countries Coen can immerse himself in.
That being said, it’s one thing to have the ambition to turn a new IP into a burgeoning saga; it’s another to actually pull it off.
Rebel Wolves has confirmed that development on a new entry is officially underway
We’re now at the stage where Rebel Wolves’ ambitious plan is actually coming to fruition, with development officially underway on a sequel.
As spotted by Insider Gaming, the Polish-based studio is already on the hunt for more developers to join its team.
Narrative director Jakub Szamalek shared as much on LinkedIn, writing, “The Blood of Dawnwalker was released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend. But! We’re not resting on our laurels – no, siree! We’re already thinking about [what] comes next.”
He continued, “And so! Drum roll please! I’m looking for a lead writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga. We're looking for someone who, to put it bluntly, writes EXCEPTIONALLY well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management.”

The Blood of Dawnwalker was in development for around four years so, sorry to disappoint, but we’re probably looking at a launch window of 2030 for the next instalment in the saga - and that’s at the very earliest.
Still, four years is nothing to wait when you think of what Grand Theft Auto, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls gamers have had to endure.
At this stage, we have no idea where Coen might be heading next, even if the game’s ending does supposedly contain a few hints.
While the previously released cinematic shows Coen in the present day, that’s not something we’re going to skip to immediately.
The idea is that we’ll follow Coen through the centuries, one day (hopefully) reaching the present day should The Blood of Dawnwalker’s good fortunes continue.

What also remains to be seen is how developers will utilise the time mechanic in future franchise instalments.
It’s a huge part of why The Blood of Dawnwalker stands apart from the crowd, but can Coen always be caught up in a race against time?
Whatever is in store, we’re so in for the ride.
