Now that Stranger Things Season 4 has come to a climactic end, fans are able to take stock of exactly what the heck just happened to the kids in Hawkins. The final two episodes were released this weekend and they were so popular, they even managed to knock Netflix out of action for a short stretch.
The feedback, too, has been hugely positive for two stars in particular. There will be some mild spoilers for Season 4 Vol 2 so, if you’ve not watched the episodes yet, what are you doing here? Go watch them!
If you’re the kind of person who requires a visual aide to jog your memory (I know I am) then treat yourself to the trailer for Season 4’s final episodes right here.
The final two episodes, “Papa” and “The Piggyback”, featured two stars rather prominently. Namely Sadie Sink, who plays Max Mayfield and Caleb McLaughlin who plays Lucas Sinclair. The majority of the final season focuses around Max and her impending death at the hands of the evil Vecna. Caleb also turns in a star performance as Lucas who has to overcome his wishes to be part of the popular crowd to save his friends and, in particular, Max who is staring down the barrel of an excruciatingly painful and gruesome demise. Naturally, these performances have brought nothing but praise from fans.
Of course, Sink and McLaughlin weren’t the only two acting their butts off. I’d personally like to play homage to Joseph Quinn for his portrayal of metal softie Eddie Munson. That entire scene where he rocked the shit out of Master Of Puppets on the roof of his caravan home was simply chef’s kiss.
The final ending of Stranger Things Season 4 certainly seems to have paved the way for Season 5 quite nicely, and there’s a lot of chatter that Will Byers might finally get a turn as the main character. Given that Noah Schnapp turned in a powerfully emotional performance this season, it certainly bodes well for the future of the franchise. As far as acting goes, anyway. Those kids are in for a rough time. Again.
