Do you ever play Stardew Valley and think, "Man, I wish this cute, wholesome game about farming and living a peaceful life was actually super messed up and dark"?

No? Oh. Well, anyway, here's a trailer for a new game called Grave Seasons that looks like some kind of mix between Stardew Valley and Yume Nikki.

I first heard about Grave Seasons when PC Gamer's Lauren Morton covered it back in May of last year, and whilst it looked like the sort of thing I'd be into, I completely forgot it existed. Then, surprise surprise, a brand new trailer for the game just dropped in time for the spookiest month of the year.

Grave Seasons is a self-described "murder mystery farming sim RPG" that sees you take on the role of a farmer in a quaint little town called Ashenridge.

If spooks aren't your thing, Stardew Valley's Update 1.6 is now available on consoles.

You can spend your days planting crops, chatting up the local townsfolk, and solving a string of unsolved, supernatural murders. Oh and also you're not actually a farmer, you're an escaped convict. I won't lie, I'm already kind of invested.

Much like Stardew Valley, the game will allow you romance a local (or locals? I won't judge) of your choosing. Although, assumedly you'd want to be quick about solving those murders if you actually want them to hang around long enough to form a connection.

In Lauren's latest news post about Grave Seasons, it seems she uncovered a little twist that developer Perfect Garbage posted on one of their social accounts: the killer in question seems to be randomly generated each time you start a new game, which means that there's a chance the love of your life could be the person you're after.

Following the trailer, there's now a Steam page for the game if you want to take a closer look. No word on a release date quite yet, but I'll be there day one whenever there is.
