We’re just one day away from the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After an initial pandemic-related delay, the film is finally set to release tomorrow on 2 June. While I haven’t yet seen it, I did watch the trailer just the other day on the ol’ cinema big screen and let me tell you, the animation looked oh so glorious.
We had the opportunity to talk to actor Jake Johnson about bringing the married Peter B. Parker to life in Across The Spider-Verse. He also mentioned just how powerful the film is, sending our hype levels through the roof. Producer Amy Pascal also told us in an interview that absolutely nothing was “off limits” seeing as Sony owns all variations of Spidey, with Marvel co-operating fully. She wouldn’t confirm whether that means we’ll see Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, or Tobey Maguire make an appearance, but it’s a tease that’s got our Spidey senses tingling nonetheless. Today though, I bring you an update on leading man Miles Morales himself. It looks as if Miles is about to get his own live-action movie.
Take a look at the trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse below.
As reported by Deadline, producer Pascal has confirmed that Sony has plans for Miles beyond the final Spider-Verse instalment, Beyond The Spider-Verse, which is due out next year. Pascal told Deadline that “you’ll see all of it,” adding “It’s all happening,” in reference to a live-action Miles Morales film, plus a Spider-Woman centric film. In terms of the latter, producer Avi Arad added that viewers will see this “sooner than you expect”. Very intriguing.

The duo couldn’t expand further with Arad saying, “I cannot tell you yet, but it’s coming.” There’s more. Pascal also confirmed that a fourth Spidey MCU film starring Tom Holland and Zendaya is in the works, but the ongoing writers strike has delayed the project. “We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started,” Pascal said.
Miles is truly having his moment. He’ll soon also feature in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which recently got a juicy 12-minute gameplay reveal that’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is set to release on 2 June 2023.
