Stranger Things 4 finally releases later this month, and Netflix has ensured the three-year wait for more Hawkins action will be worth it by making the new season ridiculously long.
While Stranger Things 4 actually has one less episode than Stranger Things 3 did, series co-creator Ross Duffer has confirmed that the overall runtime is "almost twice as long".
Take a look at Stranger Things 4 in action below!
In a fantastic new in-depth interview with IGN, director Shawn Levy explained that that this new season's episodes have a lot packed into them. In fact, he confirmed that there are a few episodes coming up that are longer than some of his movies.

"I've released two movies in the time we've been making season 4," Levy said. "We have multiple episodes that are longer than both Free Guy and The Adam Project."
Just so you're aware, Free Guy is 1 hour and 55 minutes, while The Adam Project is 1 hour and 46 minutes. The Wrap also reports that the Stranger Things 4 finale is more than 2 hours long. Good thing you can pause Netflix to go take a pee whenever you want, eh?
Duffer explained that one of the reasons Stranger Things 4 is such a chungus is because it has a lot to get through as the characters move towards the fifth and final season.
"We've talked about this being a very revelatory season, in that there's a lot of stuff that we want to tell the audience about and reveal in terms of the Upside Down and what is really happening here in Hawkins," the writer said.

Given that Netflix has spent around $30 million per episode of Stranger Things 4, it's good to know they're getting their money's worth.
