Today, the fourth episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has released on Prime Video, and it seems to have been a hit with the audience. Over on Reddit, fans have been gushing over just about everything, from Adar’s introduction to the stunning visuals at the end of the episode.
Take a look at the trailer for The Rings of Power below.
Fans have also noticed something particularly exciting though - the appearance of a certain sword. As spotted by Reddit user tylerm11111, Narsil, the sword which Isildur used to give Sauron a particularly nasty paper cut and remove the One Ring from his finger in The Fellowship of the Ring, can be spotted sitting pretty for all to see. What’s more, the props team hasn't changed the weapon at all, meaning you instantly identify that classic shape of the hilt and know precisely what blade that is - it’s a great callback to the original movie trilogy. Or would it be a call forward? This is a prequel, after all.
“I just about gave my wife a heart attack re-enacting the Leonardo DiCaprio meme at this scene,” commented huddycrisp. “You look as beautiful as the day I lost you,” wrote Linino. “Wish I could have seen my face when that sword showed up on screen. What a cool surprise!” added Phee78.
