Red Dead Redemption fans furious over new release

Red Dead Redemption fans furious over new release

Rockstar Games have somehow managed to upset everyone by giving them something they've been asking for since 2010

Rockstar finally announced something that thousands of people have been waiting years for: a PC port of the original Red Dead Redemption.

This should be a joyous moment. Rockstar heard our cries. They're giving the people something they've begged them for since Red Dead Redemption first hit consoles back in 2010.

...aaaaand folks are mad, but admittedly not without good reason.

As Rockstar recently revealed on their official website, the PC port of Red Dead Redemption will cost £39.99 in the UK and $49.99 in the USA.

On paper, that doesn't look like too steep of a price. A new game will probably cost you somewhere around £59.99 or $69.99 these days. But therein lies this issue for some folks; this isn't a new game.

In a Reddit post detailing the price announcement, the majority of comments are extremely negative. Honestly it was kind of a struggle to find a positive one.

"Thats what I paid for it when it came out on the f***ing xbox 360", commented user daffquick1990.

"I think this is what gets me..." replied user AngryTrooper09, "The game is nearing 15 years old and the multiplayer portion has been cut. $50 really stings when it ends up more expensive than RDR 2 when it’s on sale"

"This is just a horrible cash grab..." commented user thekinkbrit (in a separate post), "What the hell is this."

Naturally of course, some folks were quick to remind everyone that this was to be expected.

"Why are people surprised?" commented user thehitman346, "When the “remaster” came out it was 50 dollars. You think they are going to change sh*t for PC?"

You know, personally I kind of figured it would cost this much, but the comment about the multiplayer being cut actually kind of convinced me.

You're paying the same price for a version of the game that actually has less content than the original, and you'll have to put up with Rockstar's awful launcher in the process.

Maybe this was to be expected, yes, but it still doesn't justify it. Rockstar knows people will gladly pay the price however, so maybe we're the real dummies in the end.
