It’s the rumour that we’ve all been waiting to hear. According to one insider, Red Dead Redemption 3 has entered pre-production at Rockstar Games, but many fans remain unconvinced.
Red Dead Redemption 3 feels like a given. After all, many continue to hail Red Dead Redemption 2 as one of the best-looking games out there, five years after it was released. It’s most definitely amongst the best games of all-time. It would be mighty strange if Rockstar chose to never return to this franchise. Judging by the recent Red Dead Redemption port for modern consoles though, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Rockstar is clearly preserving access to this series for future generations, even if the port wasn’t the remake we were all hoping for. It’s likely we haven’t received news of a Red Dead 3 because of development on GTA VI but according to one insider, it is happening.
Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.
It’s Twitter user MyTimeToShineH who made the announcement, writing, “Red Dead Redemption 3 is officially in the works.” The user didn’t exactly provide any kind of source or reasoning to back up the credibility of their claim - and as I said, it seems to be a sensical guess that development on Red Dead 3 will follow the conclusion of development on GTA VI.

As such, fans remain dubious. This particular leak appears to be a shot in the dark. “So won’t be seeing this for another five years at least,” wrote Reddit user jumper62. “This is why I hate all this ‘insider’ thing. Zero accountability with more and more educated guesses coming out of the woodwork,” added excaliburps.
User krezzaa offered a similar point of view, saying, “MTTSH is a Marvel leaker and, although somewhat reliable for those leaks, is known for clout chasing and monetising her following. I'd put money on betting she doesn't have any actual information about potential RDR3 development to any degree, and is just posting this since it's vague, highly likely, an easy guess, and would gain traction on her page. Exactly like it obviously has been, as is evident by this very post.”
We’ll be keeping an eye on any official developments.
