Red Dead Redemption 2 players blown away by new open world detail

Many Red Dead Redemption 2 players have only just discovered one genuinely useful detail hidden in the game's open world.

Every time a new detail is discovered in Red Dead Redemption 2, I assume that it’ll be the last. It might be an expansive game, but at the end of the day, it’s a single-player experience that released in 2018. There’s only so much stuff that a game can be hiding, right?

Once again, I’ve been proven wrong. Even as we approach the game’s fifth anniversary, fans are still finding things hidden away in Red Dead Redemption 2’s gorgeous open world. As Game Rant reports, over on Reddit, many players have only just found out about a hidden detail that’s actually incredibly helpful in-game. Rockstar Games sure kept this one quiet.

Before we get into it, take a look at some of the funniest wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below.

“What I discovered in RDR2 today: The animals strung up at hunters camps aren’t just props,” user Felwinter wrote, along with a clip of them cutting down two animals and grabbing some extra loot from them.

Other fans are stunned: “How did this game take any less than 100 years to make?! There is sooooo much detail and little touches. It boggles the mind!” commented WileyNarwhal. “The details of this game are just so incredible,” wrote Too__Official. “Damn, I never realised this. This game just surprises me year after year,” added sonnyzinser.

As others in the thread added, stealing hunters’ kills this way is actually a really good way to loot perfect carcasses and pelts, so if you need to get your hands on some of those (for the Master Hunter Challenges, for example), this little detail can be very handy. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that you’ll lose honour every time you do this. Hey, what do you expect for stealing someone else’s hard-earned stuff?
