Just when you think there is nothing else to discover in Red Dead Redemption 2, another player comes forward with a new unearthed secret hidden within the much-loved Rockstar title. That is the case for one Reddit user who took to the platform to share their findings.
You know a game is full to the brim with detail if features and secrets are still being discovered five years on from release. For Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, this is pretty much an everyday occurrence and it is no different today. One player took to Reddit to share their latest discovery which is found in a forest cabin in a small farm in the New Hanover area of the expansive map. “Has anybody encountered this inscription?” they asked in r/reddeadredemption.

The image provided shows what looks to be an inscription etched onto the top of a chest of drawers which reads “you want more than you have”. As you can imagine, the comments were soon full of speculation as to what this message means and many seem to think it is a cheat code.
“It's a cheat code, you can enter it in the settings tab I think,” said one user. “WHAT! RDR2 is a rabbit hole, I’m in my 2nd play through and only now I know these are cheats,” another replied. “I’m gonna try it tonight.” The cheat codes seemingly scattered around the world will reward players with things such as unlimited ammo, god modes and even a code for Arabian horses which this code seemingly rewards you with.
This is just one of many secrets discovered years on from Red Dead Redemption 2’s release. It comes alongside news of Rufus the dog, a godsend feature that makes horse riding even smoother and even a secret encounter that rewards you with extra dialogue with Arthur’s fellow gang members.
With Red Dead Redemption 2 still being fairly new, it remains to be seen what else we will discover in the next five years. I, for one, am excited to find out.
