Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered as one of the best video games of all time thanks to its narrative, setting and Rockstar’s attention to detail.

It is hard to search for any complaints about the 2018 Rockstar hit but one thing fans can agree on is that the ending of Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty damn heartbreaking.

All of Arthur Morgan’s trials and tribulations come to an abrupt stop after he discovers he has tuberculosis and it is this diagnosis that ultimately kills him (unless you have low honor then a bullet does the trick).

However, what if you could avoid this heartbreaking end for our favourite cowboy?

Well, one player seemingly has a way to make this possible.

The topic was brought up back in 2022 when one fan posted the following question to r/reddeadredemption.

“Is there any way to save Arthur Morgan?

I've just started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 two weeks ago and I've just found out he's gonna die later in a chapter because of the spoilers.

I seriously don't want him to die, is there any way I can save him from tuberculosis?”

It seems pretty unlikely that you can save somebody from tuberculosis during the 19th century but a fellow fan had one way of avoiding it.

“The only way I've found is to use the Hidden Cave to break the map in Chapter 2 before the money lending missions, travel to Guarma, save, and log off,” they shared.

“Arthur is healthy, free, and retired in Guarma. Micah is still in jail. That's the good ending.”

Bad news is that you will have halved the game content but the good news is that Arthur is alive and well on his tropical island.

Bonus is that Micah is rotting in jail so it’s a win-win right?
