Red Dead Redemption fans agree the OG game still holds up incredibly

Try not to think about the cancelled remaster.

Red Dead Redemption is languishing in praise once more for its incredible atmosphere, heart-rending story and memorable cast of characters, with a few fans saying that it triumphs over its successor.

It's a shame, therefore, that you aren't able to play the game on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 due to its deletion from PlayStation Plus. Obviously, it's tragic whenever a game is lost to the annals of time, but it's infuriating that one of Take-Two's jewels in its studded crown has suffered this fate. Furthermore, we found out that the remaster of Red Dead Redemption got cancelled thanks to the problematic state of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition. Ergo, the only ways to step back into John Marston's shoes are on PC and Xbox.

Check out these wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

It's cheering then to see the game still captivating its players both new and old. "I still can’t believe that after 13 years it still hasn’t been dethroned as my favourite game of all time, not even RDR2 could do it, idk if any other game will," said Lewbomb. "The story is the best in video games and one of the best stories in all of fiction, there isn’t one badly written character or story beat in the whole game."

"RDR1 has the most unique atmosphere of any game I’ve played. It has such an eerie, lovely vibe to the whole game," added another. "I think the themes of the game/story also contribute a lot to it. The Wild West is on its final legs, John is kinda living on borrowed time, and you can really feel it throughout the game." Wow. Well, when you put it like that.
