The cancelled live-action Powerpuff Girls series has had its trailer leaked online, and I think we’re all collectively thanking God it never made it to air.
Perhaps that’s a bit too harsh, as there were like hundreds of people working on the series who tried their best to make it work, but ultimately things just didn’t go as planned.
Honestly it just feels like the Halo TV series all over again, why do they keep doing this...
Anyway the leaked trailer has given us a glimpse at what could have been, and as you can expect viewers have had a lot to say about it…

For starters the visual effects really aren’t there for a superhero show, and it makes some bizarre changes to the characters and story to make it fit into a live-action format.
It also continued the trend of taking a colourful, loveable IP and giving it a darker, more serious tone, something that rarely ever works so I don’t know why studios keep trying it.
The reactions to the leaked trailer speak for themselves, with one viewer saying: “It looks like a College Humor sketch, but done completely in earnest.”
Another exclaimed “THANK GOD THIS WAS CANCELLED Gotta be one of the worst things I've seen this year EXCEPT the professor he got some chuckles out of me.”

Others used it as an example of why CW has been on a steady decline over the years, saying “this kinda proves why CW will no longer do shows like this again and had to be stopped.
“Yeah, early Arrowverse and Riverdale were good but that’s when the formula was new and the people involved were invested in these properties, later you could see the desperation.”
Let’s just be thankful this show never got any further than a leaked trailer, as if it actually aired it’d no doubt be ripped apart by critics and viewers alike.
