A train station in India has gone viral after a baffling incident took place which saw porn being displayed on its TV screens for a number of minutes on Sunday, 19 March.
As reported by India Today, the adult film played on platform 10 at Patna Junction station, in Bihar, for around three minutes until complaints were filed to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). After that, the RPF got in touch with the company responsible for the station’s advertisements - Dutta Communication - and the chaos was brought to a close.
Given that the incident took place at around 9:30am, a lot of people were at the station when it happened, and unsurprisingly, Dutta Communication is now in some seriously hot water. According to the report, a first information report (FIR) was registered against the agency and it’s been hit with a fine. It’s also been blacklisted by the railway. India Today writes that officials have terminated its contract (according to their sources), and that the railway department is conducting an inquiry into the incident.

At the time of writing, it’s not known how the video began playing on the TV screens in the first place, or whether it was an intentional act. Some are wondering if it could be an embarrassing mistake from one of the train station’s employees. One Twitter user questioned: “What do the railway employees do in the station control room[?] Were they enjoying the X rated movie which accidentally played on the platform screen[?]”
We’re not going to be linking to the video here, but as we discovered when searching Twitter for reactions for the sake of writing this article, the clip is everywhere. If it was a mistake, there’s no doubt that whoever was responsible is going to be feeling a bit sheepish.
