Pokémon fans surprised with free download you don't have forever to claim

Be quick about it, as it's believed it'll disappear in less than a week!

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket players are currently being treated to a freebie following a new in-game event, but you can only nab said free item for a limited time.

Thank you in advance to a user on the Bulbagarden forums for collating all of the info in regards to the new event!

Pokémon TCG Pocket just hit an incredible milestone, and they're giving away a brand new card to celebrate.

As of today, Pokémon TCG Pocket players have managed to collectively acquire over 40 billion cards.

To mark the special occasion, players who log in during the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event can nab themselves the Pokédex promo card.

The card functions in the exact same way as the other Pokédex cards you can already earn in Pokémon TCG Pocket, with the only difference being the alternate art that features Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander.

There's currently no exact date on when the promo art Pokédex card will disappear, but it's theorised that you'll no longer be able to claim it once the Mythical Island SP Emblem Event ends on January 26.

Speaking of, you'll probably want to log in regardless, as the new event offers players a whole bunch of limited time freebies - should you manage to best the challenges that are currently available.

For instance, winning 50 versus battles during the event nets you 2,000 Shinedust (plus another 1,850 Shinedust for clearing the other versus battle challenges).

Considering you’ve only got about a week left to actually claim all of the rewards, you may want to get your butt in gear - as 50 wins is no small feat.

Keep an eye out for any further promo card awards in the next month or so too, as (considering how quickly they managed to accumulate 40 billion cards) I think the next freebies isn’t too far off.
