Pokémon fans torn as our first new Eeveelution in years leaks

The leak proves troubling for some

The huge Pokémon leak from a few weeks ago keeps on dishing out new information and fans can’t get enough.

Usually, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo are so secretive these kinds of details almost never emerge but now we’re getting a peek behind the curtain.

Pokémon-like Temtem is making a comeback with a new game in the roguelike genre

This little tidbit comes courtesy of Reddit where a fan has shared details on Eeveelutions that have never been included in any of the games.

It turns out that a flying Eeveelution was considered by The Pokémon Company to appear in generation seven of the games, Pokémon Sun and Moon.

According to the leak, this Eeveelution was scrapped because the design looked too much like a fan design.

From the details uncovered, we can also see that Umbreon was initially designed to be a poison-type Pokémon.

This brings a whole new view of the Eevee chain and some fans find the future of the Eevee evolution troubling.

“Considering how many fandesigns exist for all the Eeveelutions for various types, it means we are very unlikely to get another eeveelution because it is going to be difficult to make something that looks unique,” said blazingciary.

Another fan, in reply, said, “Yes it might explain why we got Sylveon lastly because there was never a fairy type thus no design similar to Sylveon.”

This last comment raises a good point and it could mean we don’t get a new Eeveelution until Game Freak introduces a new Pokémon type.

It sucks that we didn’t get to see a flying-type in the evolution tree and it’s a little shocking that Game Freak or The Pokémon Company couldn’t come up with something different from the fans.

Having said that, thousands of fans are creating ‘fakemon’ all the time, so it’s going to be difficult to produce something original or that hasn’t been swayed by the community.
