Oh dear. To be honest, I think we all saw this coming when May’s line-up of free PlayStation Plus games was announced, but gamers are indeed very disappointed about the three titles that Sony has chosen to hand out to subscribers next month.
In case you missed it, the three new freebies were announced yesterday (after an accurate leak which surfaced online a few hours earlier in the day). Before we get into this, it’s important to note that we’ve had some super solid freebies from PlayStation Plus pretty much every month this year - from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in January, to OlliOlli World in February, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure this month (let’s not talk about March and its offering of Battlefield 2042). Needless to say, the bar had been set fairly high.
PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers have also been getting some excellent new additions to the Game Catalogue recently, including the lovely adventure game Tchia. Take a look below.
Anyway, as of 2 May (and through to 6 June), subscribers can claim GRID Legends (PS4/5), Chivalry II (PS4/5), and Descenders (PS4) for free, and over on Reddit, people aren’t impressed.

“I'm not going to hate, I’m sure some people love these games. But no[,] none of these are for me,” Annual_Interest_6272 wrote. “Me too man. Give us some better games rather than this trash,” agreed Thomshan911. “Not a good month but yeah, the games have been good so far, so a s***ty month would be in the corner,” wrote Str4wberrySunrise. “Weakest month of the year,” added Ether86.
If you’ve not already grabbed April’s lineup of freebies (including the aforementioned Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Meet Your Maker and Tails of Iron), you have until 1 May to do so. To save you checking your calendar, that’s Monday, so be sure to claim them while you can.
