At first glance, May’s essential tier PlayStation Plus line-up is somewhat underwhelming - particularly given the fact that there are two vehicular games. If driving cars or bikes isn’t really your thing, I can understand you finding this line-up a little lacklustre. There is one game included though that subscribers are claiming is a hidden gem.
In fact, some are saying that playing this title is the ‘most fun’ they’ve had in years. Now that is a bold claim. Consider me intrigued. In case you missed it, this month’s essential tier PlayStation Plus line-up includes GRID Legends, Descenders, and Chivalry II. Fans originally branded the line-up as ‘trash’ but as time has passed, more and more people have come forth to say that, actually, Chivalry II is an all-around great time.
Tchia is available on PlayStation Plus’ extra tier catalogue - and it’s delightful. Take a look below.
If this is the first you’re hearing of Chivalry II, the title was released back in 2021. Created by Torn Banner Studios, the game is a medieval multiplayer hack and slash game playable from either a first or third person perspective. It’s a sequel to 2012’s Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and received a very respectable score of 82 on Metacritic.

GAMINGbible’s very own James Daly attested that it’s ‘very good’ and I certainly trust his opinion. As reported by ComicBook, fans of the game have gathered on Reddit to recommend the title to other PS Plus subscribers. User ShawnDawn wrote, “This is the most fun I’ve had from a PlayStation Plus game in a while. Here’s to the aim assist on the bow.” Plenty of others shared their own experiences.
Darkone1987 said, “I don’t care if I get all the trophies or not but this game is hilarious and a good time running in with a battle cry,” while Deep-Permission-7611 added, “They had me at it’s merely a flesh wound. This game’s hilarious, it’s like Battlefield but no guns and much funnier.” It definitely sounds like it’s worth a download.
