Yesterday, it was unveiled that PlayStation Plus’ extra and premium tier catalogues will be updated with a whopping 23 new games in May - on 16 May, to be exact. It’s a stellar line-up with some subscribers claiming that PS Plus is now outperforming Xbox Game Pass.
In an ideal world, we want both platforms thriving. This positive reception to the latest PS Plus announcement makes up for this month’s essential tier offerings. In case you missed it, all subscribers can now grab GRID Legends, Descenders, and Chivalry II. Although some are saying that Chivalry II is actually heaps of fun, many branded the line-up to be ‘trash’. The latest extra and premium tier additions though tell a completely different story.
Tchia is PlayStation Plus’ strongest day one release so far this year. Take a look at this delightful game below.
Extra tier subscribers will soon be able to grab: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5), Humanity (PS4/PS5), Watch Dogs: Legion (PS4/PS5), Dishonored 2 (PS4), Dishonored: Death of the Outsider (PS4), Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin (PS4), Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4), Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration (PS4), Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4), Bus Simulator 21: Next Stop (PS4/PS5), The Evil Within 2 (PS4), Wolfenstein: Youngblood (PS4), Thymesia (PS5), Rain World (PS4), Lake (PS4/PS5), Conan Exiles (PS4), Rune Factory 4 Special (PS4), Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (PS4), and Soundfall (PS4/PS5).

Premium subscribers will then also get: Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow (PS4/PS5), Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light (PS4/PS5), Pursuit Force (PS4/PS5), and Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered (PS4).
Over on Reddit, subscribers gathered to discuss the line-up. ShinSekai3d wrote, “Am I crazy for thinking PS Plus extra is better than Game Pass right now?” while Captain_Stocky added, “I just came to PS5 from Xbox last week after the launch of Redfall and can’t believe what an amazing deal PS [Plus] extra is. So many good games on there.” Not everyone agreed. Flat-Relationship-34 said, “Last couple of months of PS Plus definitely better but overall, still a long way to go to catch up to Game Pass imo.” It’s great to see players happy with what’s on offer though.
