PlayStation Plus had a heck of a year in 2022, dropping games like Ghost of Tsushima Legends, Slay the Spire, Toem and more into the laps of its loyal players. Perhaps you're pulling in your belt in the first month of 2023, and if so, we've got some good news.
PlayStation Plus, now split into three tiers if you missed the memo, is currently seeing its prices slashed by 30 to 40%. The Essential tier does everything that the base subscription service used to do, offering customers a set of monthly games to claim, access to online multiplayer modes, special discounts in the Store, and the PlayStation Plus Collection. That last one gets you games like Bloodborne, God of War and Persona 5 for free so hop on that sharpish if you haven't already. Extra unlocks all of the aforementioned as well as the Game Catalog which includes an immense number of titles from Celeste to Balan Wonderworld. Hey, no one said all of those games were going to be good.

Lastly, Premium bungs in everything that we've talked about before with exclusive benefits like game trials, cloud streaming and the Classics Catalog. It's important that we delve into what tier does what, as the discount only applies to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. On PlayStation's official website, the three month and 12 month subscriptions for Extra and Premium offer savings on these first three or 12 months before jumping back up to the usual price. If you're sitting on the fence, well, you'll need to head off within the next few days as this discount expires on 13 January. Given the amount of love that PS Plus got over the course of 2022, it's worth considering paying for the subscription service if you want a bang for your buck.
