PlayStation is dropping a truly gorgeous free game for users everywhere, and the best part? There's no need for a subscription.
While the vast majority of PlayStation free games are typically hidden behind a PlayStation Plus subscription, this one is as free as a kite on a windy day. It's more free than a goat up a mountain. It's as free as it gets, basically.
Confirmed last night, Naraka: Bladepoint will be making the jump from PC to PlayStation. For those not in the know, Naraka is a gorgeous 60-player battle royale that swaps guns and grenades for a martial arts-inspired melee combat system.

The game originally launched on Steam back in 2021, and currently costs £18. From July 13, however, Naraka will be free-to-play for everyone. This is also, of course, when it makes the jump over to PlayStation.
"Naraka: Bladepoint is going free to play for good on July 13," reads a post over on Steam. "Team up with your friends in fast-paced melee fights for a Battle Royale experience unlike any other. More than 20 million players have already joined the fray.
"Naraka offers you a Battle Royale experience unlike any other: you'll enjoy dynamic, fast-paced and ever shifting melee-focused combat, battle your enemies with punishing combos, parries, and grit or outsmart them using lethal counters in an intense mind game. Wall run, swoop down, and zip across mountains and buildings to hunt down unsuspecting foes using your grappling hook and parkour skills."
It's worth noting that the game mostly has mixed reviews and a user score of 7/10 on Steam, but that's not bad at all for a battle royale that's going to cost you nothing. Plus aren't we all tired of the same old battle royales filled with guns and explosions? I'm down for something genuinely fresh and unique, and this looks like it could well be it.

You can pre-register for Naraka now ahead of its move to PlayStation to get some bonus freebies, or... you can wait. It's up to you. Do what you want. I really honestly don't care.
