Recently, Xbox gamers have noticed that they don’t seem to be getting as many rewards points as they used to.
This was recently confirmed for a German player on Reddit, who showed that the total amount of reward points was significantly less than it once was.
Borderlands 4 was shown off at The Game Awards with a full gameplay trailer.
In a thread titled, “Yep, it was nerfed”, the player shows that they were only earning five points for tasks that used to bring in a lot more.

“It used to be [plus] 10, [plus] 30, [plus] 10 with the occasional this or that quiz that gave you [over] 50... this is pitiful,” said Xbox fan rileymontana9090.
Players are now urging each other to check the amounts in your country and earn the higher challenge amounts while you still have the chance.
These points can be exchanged for store credit, so the smaller the reward, the longer it’ll take to earn that £5 or $5 off in the Xbox store.
You could argue that these rewards points are simply a bonus to playing and buying your games, however, a lot of players like to game the system to earn as much money off as possible.

If the option is there, why not use it?
So, some are seeing this as a disappointing move from Microsoft, saying things like, “Rewards have been getting worse and worse. The time consumption is insane now.”
It’s not lost on fans that Xbox are making this change at Christmas, when people could do with the discounts, commenting, “Merry nerfmas people.”
This has happened over on PlayStation as well, with the Stars program being nerfed too.

Redditor, DarthSqueaky has this to say, “Nerf it to hell till people stop using it completely. Cancel the program due to ‘lack of engagement’. Profit.”
If you’re a player who relies on these points for cheeky discounts, you’ll need to earn what you can quickly, just in case.
