Many would expect Xbox to fire back with a “pro” version of the Xbox Series X, though insiders claim this isn’t the case.

Instead it’s focusing solely on the next major Xbox console, and apparently a portable console as well.
The timeframe on when we can expect to see these supposed consoles is unknown at the time of writing, though 2026 seems to be the ideal time for both Microsoft and Sony to unveil and release the new-gen hardware.
In reality Xbox never needed to produce a console to match the PS5 Pro, as the PS5 Pro is barely a noticeable upgrade compared to its predecessor, something many fans have agreed on.
Xbox also recently launched new interactions of its Xbox Series X/S line, including some all-digital consoles for those who don’t like collecting physical media anymore.

Right now would be the ideal time for Xbox to launch a controller to rival the PS5 DualSense, something that it’s presumably doing at some point as one leaked during the Microsoft V FTC trial.
All in all, Xbox doesn’t seem to be competing too heavily with PlayStation right now, something reflected in its hardware as well as its growing game library, many of which are launching on Xbox Game Pass on day one like Indiana Jones And The Great Circle.
So put your wallets away, there are no new Xbox consoles coming by the end of the year, PlayStation seemingly has the holiday period all to itself.
