You’ve probably never realised this, but your Xbox Series X has a fantastic hidden feature worthy of praise.

Love for our Xbox consoles may occasionally wane, but never completely disappears.

Despite being a large black brick, this console has some solid features that ensure we always get a decent gaming experience.

One of these features is so top-notch you’ve never even noticed it.

The reason it remains under the radar is because it’s so silent.

No, seriously. When it comes to hardware, the Xbox Series X is ridiculously quiet.

When asked which console feature was the best one, user shakobe33 said, “The silence... I've pushed it to the limit multiple times and never heard a thing.”

I’ll be honest, I’ve never noticed how quiet my Xbox is, but perhaps that only reaffirms the claims that this is one of its greatest attributes...?

Redditor shakobe33 isn’t the only player to be shocked at the lack of noise.

“I have a top-of-the-line Alienware gaming PC, and this thing becomes loud and emits a ton of heat when playing Microsoft Flight Simulator at 4K. When I play Flight Simulator on my XBOX series X it runs in 4K minus the jet engine noise and the heat,” commented OneBeat2

They added, “It's just incredible how they designed this console to be whisper quiet even when pushed to the max.”

Not every experience is universal, though, as demonstrated by one user who has heard their Xbox struggling for air.

However, as this user also detailed, this was due to it being stored inside a “media unit”. Once they opened those doors and allowed the fresh air in, they marvelled at how quickly their Xbox returned to being “dead quiet”.

Next time you switch on your Series X, take a moment to listen for the silence that greets you. After the start-up sound has played, of course.
