The next Xbox console is going to be a vast improvement over its predecessor, as aside from graphical changes the hardware itself could do with an upgrade.
PlayStation has led the charge on innovative new features like the DualSense controllers, whereas Xbox has favoured third-party offerings and ensures games are available on more than just your home console.
Not every game can make the leap though, like Indiana Jones And The Great Circle which is arguably the prettiest game we’ve seen on Xbox, ever
That said, it seems the next Xbox console will finally embraced more advanced controllers, and we were supposedly going to see one in 2024 as Project Sebille was leaked during the Microsoft V FTC trial.

New patents have revealed a controller that features haptic feedback on the cards, and it’ll apparently push the feature further than ever, or more specifically backwards.
An example reads “the device can be tuned such that one resonance peak simulates haptic feedback of a legacy haptic motor of a legacy device … such a configuration may be used for backwards compatibility with legacy video games."
So imagine you’re playing Halo: Combat Evolved with your shiny new controller, the haptic feedback will vibrate as if you were using the OG Xbox controller instead.
Because it’s a patent it doesn’t mean it’s a confirmed feature, just that Xbox can include it if it chooses to, but hopefully it’s implemented as it sounds pretty cool.

There are plenty of other controller features that could be included too, like adaptive triggers, a speaker and more, but there’s always the fear of going too advanced to the point you’re having to charge the thing constantly.
Personally, all I want out of Xbox’s next controller is an internal battery like the PlayStation controllers have, that’s all I need.
