Could we be getting the Xbox 'Next' console sooner than we think? According to a leaker, the console could be getting released sooner than any of us expected.
At first, you might overlook this claim as nothing more than speculation, something we deal with a lot in the games industry, but on closer inspection, this claim may have merit. The string of tweets seemingly unearthing this discovery have been shared on Reddit, with you able to peruse them at your leisure.
Have you seen the Jurassic Park Survival announcement yet?
The gist of the matter is that user @Kelper_L2 has been commenting on many posts about Microsoft’s next console trajectory with comments like “Xbox-next isn’t that far away” and “I’ve heard very different things”. To be honest, it’s quite cryptic, which is a bit frustrating as it gives us less to hold onto by way of hard facts.

Still, while little evidence is being given, this is the same leaker who revealed the PS5 Pro specs, thus giving substantial weight to their belief that the new Xbox will arrive sooner than predicted.
In response, one user said, “In 2026, Series X will be six years old. That's a year younger than the PS4 and Xbox One were in 2020. Hmmmm,” seemingly realising that a next-gen console could definitely be on the cards when using the past to predict the future.

However, some gamers aren’t convinced that the launch date is near, with one saying, “With the pandemic and the smaller leap between generations this one should be longer than the PS4/Xbox One.” This is the thing, the pandemic was an unexpected turn of events that ground a lot of industries to a halt; even though gaming thrived due to people being at home, that doesn’t mean constant work on a new console was possible.
In our humble opinion, it feels a little too soon for a new Xbox, but with the PS5 Slim now out, it may be that Microsoft is eager to beat their rivals to the next-gen launch.
