Xbox has updated the way you can earn points and, by extension, in-store credit for 2025, and fans have mixed opinions on the changes.
The Xbox Rewards program has changed a lot over the years and depending on who you ask, it’s gotten marginally worse over time.
Have you played the new Indiana Jones game yet? It’s a banger if not a bit forgettable.
This year though, there have been some more changes, some of which are good, whereas others are bad, and it’s led to mixed opinions overall.

While there’s too many changes to go over here, some of the important ones include PC players having more opportunity to earn, as well as the weekly play challenges getting a multiplayer bonus depending on how many weeks in a row you’re on.
In a Reddit thread discussing the changes, fans did the maths and determined that doing everything you can possibly do on both Xbox consoles and PC will net you a total of 4,100 points per month.
This has apparently decreased from the old total of 4,925 points. Not great, but what are you going to do?
One of the saving graces, as one fan pointed out, is there are no more challenges “tied to getting achievements,” but there’s seemingly not enough to get fans excited again.

“Sucks I’ll be missing all those PC points as I don’t have a PC,” said one user and another added, “So you get less points per activity and have to do more overall.”
Again, it sucks, but there’s not much you can do about it. Personally I’ve never gone out of my way to get points so if you’d rather just have them earning in the background, you probably won’t notice much of a difference.
Regardless, some of the changes Xbox has made are positive, and it’ll be interesting to see how they change throughout the year.
