Xbox users can play a free Fallout game this weekend, and the best part is you don’t even need Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers already have access to a lot of Fallout games, and Bethesda games in general, but this weekend those who don’t yet have a subscription can join in on the fun.
Check out the most recent update for Fallout 76 below
This is of course possible through Xbox Free Play Days, which allow users to play a handful of titles without the need for a purchase or a subscription.

The games on offer this weekend include Fallout 76, and MLB The Show 24 and Under the Waves.
Fallout 76 is the most recent Fallout game, and white it had a frankly terrible launch due to a lack of content and too many bugs even for a Bethesda game, it’a come a long way thanks to several updates.
An upcoming update will even give players the option to transform their character into a ghoul, perfect for those who watched the Fallout TV series and came away with a newfound love for the crispy wasteland wanderers.
Unfortunately that update isn’t coming until 2025 so you won’t be doing that this weekend, and even if the update did drop you’ll need to be Level 50 to make it happen.

Nevertheless this is a great opportunity to try the game out for yourself, and if you like what you play you don’t need to buy the game outright, you can sign up to Xbox Game Pass and play it at no additional cost.
Lord knows we’re not getting Fallout 5 anytime soon unless Xbox fast-tracks its development, so for the time being Fallout 76 is all we’ve got until the next game in the series.
