It doesn’t matter how extensive my backlog is; if there’s a free AAA title on offer, you best I’m going to grab it.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S can currently nab the excellent Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for free right now.
As reported by ComicBook, there is one small catch to this.

While you do not need an Xbox Game Pass subscription, you will need a subscription to Amazon Prime as this is a Prime Game offering.
If you’re a Prime user, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is free to download from the Microsoft Store until 21 April which means that PC users can get involved too.
I should also point out that it doesn’t matter when your Prime subscription expires.
Once you’ve downloaded the game, it’s yours to keep forever.

Xbox has had a banger year so far, with Avowed dazzling critics and players alike.
If you’re not familiar with the Wolfenstein series, The Old Blood is a prequel to MachineGames’ Wolfenstein: The New Order so chronologically, it’s the series’ starting point.
As such, you don’t need any prior knowledge to hop in.

Of course, if you have already played The New Order and its sequel, The New Colossus, you’ll have a better idea about the workings of this universe.
The Old Blood works as a standalone though, spanning eight chapters and around six hours or so of gameplay.
“As war hero B.J. Blazkowicz, arm yourself with new weapons such as the bolt-action rifle and grenade-launching Kampfpistole as you attempt to thwart the advancing Nazi war machine, and take advantage of dual-wielding pipes that can be used for wall climbing – or for vicious take-downs of never-before-seen Nazi adversaries,” the synopsis reads.
If you do have Game Pass, The Old Blood is already included on there, but it may be worth grabbing via Prtime as well in case you ever decide to end your Game Pass subscription.

Plus there’s no way of telling exactly how long it’ll stick around on Game Pass.
Nabbing the game via Prime means it’s yours forever, as I said.
You only have until 21 April to make use of this offer.
That’s some way away but I know from experience how easy it is to forget about claiming these things, so I’d personally act sooner rather than later.
