Huge Free AAA RPG Drops On Xbox With Exclusive DLC PS5 Gamers Can't Enjoy

One of the best (and free) RPGs finally makes its long-awaited debut on Xbox, and with it comes exclusive DLC that you can claim right now.
The long-awaited free RPG in question is Where Winds Meet, which was originally released in 2025 on mobile devices, PC, and PlayStation 5. On the aggregate website, Metacritic, the RPG has earned scores of 72 from critics and 7.0 from users, which indicates that it's a very decent RPG, especially for free.
Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is inspired by 10th-century Wuxia Chinese mythology, and it's been praised for its deep combat, sense of adventure in its huge open-world, seamless and unintrusive multiplayer and gorgeous visuals.
What’s more, the Where Winds Meet in-game purchases are all cosmetic with no pay-to-win mechanics, which is a rarity for a free RPG. It also gets regular content updates, and the latest update is on the way soon, which adds a new expansion, as announced during the Xbox Games Showcase.

As long as you’re a subscriber to any of the Xbox Game Pass tiers, you can claim the free Where Winds Meet DLC in the ‘My Benefits’ section in the Game Pass tab of your console. It can also be claimed via the Xbox mobile app.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the free Where Winds Meet DLC is not free forever, because it will expire on 23 July 2026. So be sure to claim it ASAP, just in case you forget.
Well, yes and no. Technically, you can’t claim the free DLC on PlayStation 5 and mobile devices. However, with this being a cross-platform title, once you’ve claimed it in the Xbox Game Pass hub, you’ll be able to benefit from the DLC on all available platforms.
The expansion is ‘Hidden Mountain’; no release date has been announced yet, but we do know that it will arrive sometime in July and much like the game itself, it will be free.
“This massive new region introduces a breathtaking, multi-layered landscape that further expands the open-world exploration, rewarding curious players with hidden surprises, deep secrets, and traversal challenges at every elevation,” reads the synopsis of ‘Hidden Mountain’.
“Perched high among these treacherous peaks lies the secretive Mohist Sect. The introduction of this legendary faction brings entirely new mysteries, advanced martial arts mechanics, unique gameplay loops, and major narrative twists to the ongoing Wuxia epic.”
