If you have ever wanted to experience an Elder Scrolls title but with a lot more wholesome features, then you are in luck.

Thanks to a team made up of industry veterans, this upcoming RPG/life sim is perfect for fans of Stardew Valley and those eager for The Elder Scrolls 6.

If you need a reminder that The Elder Scrolls VI does actually exist, check out the teaser trailer below!

The announcement for this upcoming title came courtesy of Alex James Kane on Twitter who wrote:

“Former Bethesda, BioWare and Naughty Dog devs—including Last of Us artist Heather Cerlan and Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith—have announced their first game project as NEARstudios.

Hawthorn is described as “an intimate Skyrim sandbox meets a Stardew Valley village simulation.””

The announcement came alongside the first teaser trailer for Hawthorn, and I have got to say, it looks pretty adorable.

Hawthorn is set to be an online co-op game and comes from co-founder of NEARstudios and game director, Jason Richardson.

Richardson, who previously worked on Bioshock Infinite, Fallout 76 and Mass Effect: Andromeda, is no stranger to an epic title but this one looks quite different.

In this RPG, you will get to experience a world full of anthropomorphic animals and fairy creatures as you “build a village of memorable NPCs, farm, craft, explore, and celebrate the seasons in an ever-changing world bigger than you”.

“Once upon a time, woodland creatures built a trading post in forgotten Windermere Valley, but now it is the haunt of varmints, fairy lights, and mysterious rumors about why this village was abandoned,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

“To you, however, this is a hope for a new life. Recruit villagers and grow a community. Defend against the elements and forest tricksters.

Thrive and celebrate the seasons’ traditions. Rebuilding won’t be easy, but you and your newfound friends are up to the challenge.”

Hawthorn has not yet received a release date but with such an impressive development team under its belt, we can expect this title to go off with a bang.
