It’s always painful when a game has to close its doors. Perhaps more so when it’s a live service title that has taken a lot of your time and passion. Warhaven, a medieval big team PVP battler, is the latest to announce its closure.
The developer, Nexon, took to Steam to make the announcement saying, “We are here to announce with a heavy heart that we will be concluding the live services of Warhaven.” Sadly, this news comes only four months after the game exited early access.
Warhaven becomes the latest live service game to shutdown.
Live service games are a minefield currently. Even games that come out of the gates storming can fall off suddenly as we recently saw with The Finals which lost 80% of its player base not even two months after launch. And with so many live service games vying for our attention, it’s hard to stay ahead or make enough waves to compete against others.

Continuing their statement, Nexon wrote, “To create a game that could be cherished and enjoyed over an extended period, we invested much consideration and effort. However, regrettably, we must bid our sincere farewell as of April 5, 2024. We apologise that we could not come to you with better news.”
With this news, the game’s currency and battle pass will be suspended though the game will still be playable for some time. There are more details to come on the closure so players will need to keep an eye on the Steam page for Warhaven, and hopefully, the game can go out on a high. Closing out the developer’s statement, Nexon shared a lot of love for their community: “Despite all the shortcomings, we will deeply cherish the warm affection and support you have sent towards Warhaven in our hearts. Thank you for being part of the Warhaven's journey.”
