We all have that one game that we have sunk endless hours into (whether we like to admit it or not) but what happens when you finally fall out of love with said game?
Well, according to one dedicated player, the answer is to ask for a refund, even if you have sunk 35,000 hours into the game in question.
After pouring an eye-watering amount of hours into Ark: Survival Evolved, one player has had enough and taken to Steam to leave a negative review, ending it with a request for a refund.
ARK: Survival Evolved was first released back in 2017 with the action-adventure survival game tasking players with surviving on an island filled with dinosaurs, fictional monsters, prehistoric animals, natural disasters and even fellow hostile players.

Despite initially gaining a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam, in recent months, this has dropped down to a ‘mixed’ and it seems as though this dedicated player feels the same.
In their review posted on 16 July, the user lacenes wrote the following:
“I have enjoyed ARK for 35,000 hours, one of my favorite games to play with friends and family.
I ran an ASM server w/mods for years until today. NOTHING works anymore.

Server doesn't match, mods don't work, and all of this is to force us to ASA.
I have that game as well, and it sucks. That is why we went back to ASE and now you have managed to screw that also.”
The review ends with the user asking for a refund and hoping that the developers “choke on” their greed.
So it is safe to say that they are unhappy even after sinking an eye-watering amount of hours into the game.

It seems as though things went downhill for ARK developer Studio Wildcard following the game’s Aquatica update which arrived alongside a series of issues.
Needless to say, we can assume that this user will not be getting a refund considering that Steam only offers them to games purchased within the last 14 days and with less than two hours of playtime.
However, with this story now going viral, the user may not get a refund but they will have definitely got the attention of ARK: Survival Evolved’s developers.
