How would you like to get your hands on one of the best gaming platforms of the modern era worth $500? Well, of course you would and we’ll let you know how.
The Game Awards is one of the industry's most prestigious ceremonies and will see the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake II and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fight it out for the top gong. We can also expect plenty of new video game reveals, of course.
Check out the Steam Deck below!
Last year at The Game Awards 2022, Valve was giving away Steam Decks every minute and with the showing running at approximately two and a half hours, 150 Steam Decks were handed out for free which proved to be very costly indeed.

For this week’s show, Valve is giving away a Steam Deck OLED (1TB), but it will be a little different to last year. Instead of giving away a system every minute, 100 Steam Deck OLEDs will be won randomly to lucky viewers. I suppose by not giving away a system every minute, it protects Valve from actors spending more time on stage than designated. Still, with each Steam Deck OLED (1TB) costing in the region of $500/£500, there are going to be plenty of lucky winners.
News of the Steam Deck competition was revealed by the host of The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley on Twitter. “Thursday, tune into The Game Awards for your chance to win 100 Steam Deck OLEDs (1TB version) starting at 4:30pm PT/7:30pm ET/12:30am GMT,” he tweeted.

The Steam Deck OLED (1TB) comes with an NVMe SSD, 1280x800 HDR OLED display with anti-glare, up to 90Hz refresh rate, between 3 to 12 hours battery life (depending on game and settings), and more.
If you’re concerned that this competition might be restricted to North America, then worry not. The competition is open to numerous regions across the world including the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, various other European countries, Asia and more. The terms and conditions can be found in the tweet announcing the giveaway. The competition will open once The Game Awards 2023 begins. Good luck!
