If you like video games and also have a taste for free things, I've got just the story for you. There's currently an opportunity to grab some free store credit from Steam, but you'll have to be fast.
2023 was an incredible year for video games, as you can see from our end of year list. But there's no time catch up, as 2024 is throwing bangers at us thick and fast too. Between Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Ultros, Pacific Drive, and all the other games yet to come, there's too much to play. And, you know, video games ain't cheap these days.
Take a look at our Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review below!
The happy news here is that if you've got a Steam account (and who doesn't these days?), you can actually win yourselves some free store credit right now. Maybe not enough to go towards a brand-new AAA game, but certainly enough to treat yourself to something pretty in the next sale.

The Twitter account Free Steam Games is currently hosting yet another giveaway. This time there are two $10 vouchers up for grabs, if you check out this tweet and follow the steps outlined. If you're worried this is a dodgy account, it's all very above board with plenty of previous winners and giveaways under its belt. Obviously if you don't feel comfortable with it, simply don't enter!
If you're gaming on a budget, why not check out these 36 free Steam games, or take a look at any of the below free demos which are currently available to download and keep.
- Warm Snow - A stunning looking roguelike action RPG.
- Backpack Battles - An inventory management auto battler that looks way too satisfying.
- Half Sword - A very funny, but surprisingly historically accurate, battle simulator.
- Street Fighter 6 - One of the best games of the year. I don't need to say anything more.
- Bread And Fred - An adorable co-op platformer with penguins. Love penguins.
- Davigo - Not really sure how to describe this one, but it looks really damn cool.
