Steam has added eight new free games for you to download and keep.
If you’re just waking up on this fine Sunday morning and fancy doing a little gaming, it’s always a good idea to take a nosey at the new releases on Steam for anything that catches your eye.
When it comes to free games in particular, there are usually a load of good selections for you to find, you just need to look hard enough.
Fortunately for you, I’ve collected eight new free games that have recently hit Steam. With these being completely free, all you need to do is add them to your library and they’ll be there forever, even if you plan on playing them in five years’ time.

Let’s get into them, shall we? The eight new free games that have hit Steam are:
- CountUp, a puzzle game where you have to connect a bunch of tiles in ascending order while under the pressure of a time limit.
- Test Zero, a roguelite side-scroller where you explore a test chamber and fight other subjects.
- Maze, a puzzle game featuring a series of chambers that test your reflexes and agility.
- Tanks!, a top-down game where you control a tank and fight other tanks in small arenas. Fun, short missions.
- Straif, a fast-paced platformer shooter where you zip through a series of obstacle courses, shooting at the targets as you go.
- Whimsical Artefacts, a co-op game where you are tasked with collecting artifacts that have unknown effects on your and your team. You must then draw symbols or images on the artifacts to help identify what they do.
- Bartholomew.exe, a short horror FPS where you’re being hunted by a monster in a world that constantly shifts between nightmare and dream states. During the nightmare, you have no weapons and it will hunt you, but then shifting to the dream state allows you to turn the tables on it, and you can become the hunter.
- Ninja Party, a free parkour game where you control a ninja and compete against other players to become the best ninja.
All of these games are available to play now for free. All you need to do is go onto Steam and click “Play Game”.
