Steam has dropped eight free games that you can download today and keep forever.

As much as I appreciate a demo for an upcoming AAA release providing an indication whether or not a game is worth a purchase, or free-to-play games such as Fall Guys or Rocket League, sometimes, it’s nice to claim a free game that may have flown under my radar.

With that in mind, courtesy of the Twitter account ‘Free Steam Games’, here are eight games that you can download today with no catch whatsoever:

  • Balloon Warfare: “Is a first-person arena shooter with a twist: you become stronger by hunting down specific colored balloons to upgrade your weapon. Together with your team, you must take out the Boss Balloon that spawns on the map.”
  • BAPBAP: “Join BAPBAP, the Roguelike Party game where no two matches are ever the same. Round up your homies, pick a character, and build a giga-unfair build that'll make them hate you - then do it all over again!”
  • Cheese Rolling: “Chase a cheese wheel down a steep hill! Tumble with friends in this ragdoll recreation of an English tradition.”
  • Deep Snake: “Non-Euclidean snake where you can go forever deeper and deeper into the void...and if you're good enough, into the daily leaderboards.”
  • Forgotten Journey: “Is a card collection game of beautiful girls from another world. In the game, players will become the master, travel through thousands of time and space, and adventure with several familiar phantom heroes.”
  • Silent Residence: “Experience Harry's story of battling multiple personalities and his severe case of schizophrenia. In this First-person horror game, you battle the hallucinations and illusions your mind creates. You misjudge reality and quickly lose control over yourself.”
  • Tamako: “A single or local co-op puzzle platformer with a built-in level editor. Solve creative challenges together or build your own and share them on the Steam Workshop. Tamako is all about relaxed co-op play, clever puzzles, and endless player-made content.”
  • Together in Forgotten Lands: Chapter One: “Two souls, one destiny. Embark on a co-op adventure through a forgotten land, where teamwork and wit are the only way to navigate the wonders and dangers of a magical cave.”

Hopefully, at least one of the above might tickle your fancy, and out of the lot, I believe Cheese Rolling could be a fun game to play in short bursts.
