If you're looking for creepy games on a budget, we've got you covered.
Steam recently quietly dropped four new free games you can download and keep, and all but one of them are perfect for Halloween.
As spotted by Free Steam Games on Twitter, there are four new games to download on Steam. Unholy Village, Endure Island, Dairy Of The Dead, and Faaast Penguin. Can you guess which of those isn't horror inspired?

If your answer was Faaast Penguin then you would be correct. This one is described on Steam as "a wild and thrilling knockout action racing game where up to 40 penguins collide in a chaotic race to the finish." Not a horror game, then. Definitely not.
To be fair, Dairy Of The Dead isn't strictly horror either, though it is better suited to Halloween. This one is a cosy post-apocalyptic adventure about solving puzzles and exploring as a survivor and his pet cat.
If you're after proper scares, Unholy Village will be much more your speed than Faaast Penguin. Creepy first-person horror with lots of decaying monsters and dark rooms to explore. Perfect.
Finally there's the self-described survival horror of Endure Island, which looks like a bit of a mixed bag if I'm being honest.

This one's Steam description reads: "On a deserted island, a recurring phenomenon of large numbers of infected individuals appearing and disappearing continued. It was discovered that the cause was a virus, and efforts to uncover the virus and eradicate it have begun."
So there you have it, three games with top of Halloween vibes to play as the nights draw in, and one about racing penguins. Truly something for everyone.
